There is something about stepping away from routine that allows the senses to fully reawaken.
Our latest collaboration with our friends at Out of Office Collective took place at Sedgebrook Hall in Northampton, a countryside setting that felt like a natural extension of the experience itself. Rolling green landscapes, warm sunlight and unhurried time created the perfect backdrop for a staycation designed around rest, creativity and connection.
Out of Office Collective has built a community centred around intentional escapes from everyday life, so it felt only natural to bring Reverie into that world once again through one of our signature candle making workshops.
This time, scent became the focus of a slower kind of luxury.
Dreamers were invited to explore fragrance in a way that was both immersive and grounding, blending, pouring and creating candles that would later serve as tangible reminders of a weekend well spent. Because scent and memory are so closely linked, what is created in moments like these rarely stays in the room. It travels home, settling quietly into daily rituals, reawakening memories each time the candle is lit.
What made this particular workshop feel even more special was the familiarity within the room.
Having partnered with Out of Office Collective before, we were joined by returning guests who were creating their third candle with us. This was a small but meaningful reflection of continuity, trust and shared experience. It is always a privilege to see people return, not just for the activity itself, but for the feeling it creates.
There is something powerful about that kind of repetition. It transforms a workshop into something more personal. A ritual rather than an experience.
Set against the calm of the Northamptonshire countryside, the afternoon unfolded with ease. Conversation flowed, fragrances were explored with curiosity, and time seemed to soften in the way it only does when you are fully present in something tactile and creative.
These are the moments we are continually drawn to at Reverie. Not just candle making, but the creation of pause. A deliberate step away from noise and into something more intentional.
And perhaps that is what a true staycation should feel like. Not just time away, but time reclaimed.
