A Landmark Weekend for Reverie: John Lewis, Westfield & Beyond

A Landmark Weekend for Reverie: John Lewis, Westfield & Beyond

Last week marked a defining moment for Reverie: a milestone that reflected not only how far we’ve come, but how far experiential wellness and creative retail activations are evolving in the UK.

From our first ever drop in candle making station, to our debut outdoor candle making workshop, and two fully hosted workshops inside John Lewis, the weekend was a powerful expression of what modern creative experiences can look like. Alongside this, we brought our signature iced matcha latte candles back to Westfield White City, reintroducing Reverie to one of London’s most iconic retail destinations.

Inside John Lewis: A Moment of Quiet Luxury

Hosting candle making workshops within the John Lewis Discovery Room was a moment we don’t take lightly.

Within just two years of running workshops, being invited into such a recognised space is a testament to the elevated, luxury led experience we have built for our Dreamers. It reflects not only demand for immersive creative workshops, but also the standard of service, detail, and atmosphere we consistently deliver.

It was a full circle moment, one that signalled how experiential retail and wellbeing led activities are becoming central to how leading brands engage their communities.

Our First Drop In Candle Making Station

One of the biggest evolutions this weekend was introducing our first drop in candle making format.

Unlike traditional workshops where all participants begin at a fixed time, this new format allowed guests to join at their own pace, mirroring the fluidity of modern retail activations and festival style experiences.

This shift represents a major step forward in our operational capability. Back in October 2024, our workshops required structured start times to ensure flow and delivery. Now, we’ve developed the logistical systems and team expertise to confidently run open format experiences without compromising quality.

It’s a progression we’re incredibly proud of.

Outdoor Candle Making in a 29°C Heatwave

There is something undeniably cinematic about an open air candle making workshop in the height of summer.

Set against a 29 degree heatwave, our outdoor activation brought both beauty and challenge in equal measure. While the warmth made wax cooling more complex than usual, it also created the perfect festival atmosphere: relaxed, vibrant, and full of energy.

Guests were able to move fluidly between the workshop and the wider festival space, creating an experience that felt immersive rather than contained.

It was candle making, reimagined for summer.

A New Discovery: Children Love Candle Making

One of the most unexpected (and delightful) insights from the weekend was just how naturally children engaged with the experience.

Not only did they participate enthusiastically, but their creativity and attention to detail were exceptional. It reinforced something we’ve always believed: creative workshops are not age restricted; they are universally grounding, expressive, and enjoyable.

Returning to Westfield White City

We were also thrilled to return to Westfield White City, where Reverie candles first reached a wider audience during last winter’s activation.

Being back in such a high footfall cultural and retail destination allowed us to reconnect with the community that first discovered us there, while introducing new audiences to our immersive candle making world.

Westfield White City once again became a space where creativity, retail, and experience intersected seamlessly.

A Celebration of Culture, Community & Creative Expression

While we were invited by our friends to host workshops as part of the London Eid Festival, the event itself was open to all faiths and communities. This inclusivity reflects something core to Reverie: creativity belongs to everyone.

As a Christian owned brand, we remain rooted in values of openness, community, and shared experience, and it was an honour to contribute to such a welcoming and diverse celebration.

What Comes Next for Reverie

This weekend was more than a series of workshops, it was a demonstration of scale, adaptability, and creative ambition. Thank you to our friends at London Eid Festival and Five Pillar Events.

From drop in stations to outdoor activations and luxury retail spaces, we are continuing to redefine what modern candle making experiences can look like.

If you would like to host a Reverie candle making station or immersive workshop at your event, we would love to hear from you. Just get in touch with our team to bring the experience to life.
