May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time that invites a more intentional conversation around how we really feel beneath the surface of everyday life.
Stress is not always loud. More often, it is subtle, cumulative, and quietly woven into our routines until it begins to shape our focus, our mood, and eventually, our wellbeing. It rarely arrives as disruption. Instead, it builds in the background of busy days that feel normal, until they no longer do.
And so the question shifts from “How do I improve myself?” to “How do I begin to feel better?”
In pursuit of rest, we often reach for what feels easiest. Scrolling, background noise, passive consumption. Yet these habits tend to keep us suspended just above stillness, rather than fully within it. True restoration asks for something more intentional. It invites presence. It asks us to create, to engage, to immerse ourselves in something that requires our hands as much as our minds.
There is a quiet recalibration that happens through sensory experience. When we blend fragrance, pour wax, or learn something new with focused attention, the mental noise begins to soften. Not because it has been forced into silence, but because it has been gently redirected. The mind is given somewhere else to land.
This philosophy shaped our first wellness candle making workshop of the month in Northampton, where our signature experience was reimagined through a more restorative lens.
Guests explored a curated palette of wellness led fragrances, including lemongrass, lavender, eucalyptus, ylang ylang, bergamot, sage, tea tree, jasmine, patchouli and sandalwood. Each chosen for its grounding, calming or clarifying qualities.
In collaboration with Tea Story, guests were welcomed with jasmine tea on arrival, a simple but intentional ritual that set the tone for the experience. Tea Story kindly gifted each Dreamer tea, a Tea Story voucher, and a subscription gift, extending the ritual well beyond the workshop itself.
There is a tendency to resist wellness when it feels unfamiliar or disruptive. Yet in reality, it is often the smallest shifts that create the most lasting change. Lighting a candle after a long day. Choosing a scent that signals calm. Sitting with a warm cup of tea without distraction. These are not grand transformations, but gentle recalibrations that quietly improve the quality of everyday life.
Our next wellness led experience takes place on 25th May in London, in collaboration with Intelligent Change. Guests will receive a reflective journal to accompany a guided scent journaling experience designed to explore memory, mood and intention through fragrance. Tickets are still available.
Alongside our workshops, Reverie continues to bring wellness focused candle making into corporate spaces, offering a considered pause within the working day through scent led experiences designed to ease stress and encourage creativity.

Mental wellbeing does not need to be reserved for a moment or a month. It can be woven into daily life, quietly and consistently, through ritual.
Reserve your place at one of our upcoming candle making workshops and begin your own ritual of stillness.
